"I come from a proud family that taught it is our duty to stay up to date on current events. I want to help maintain cost effective resources and public services which will be a challenge, because the County is receiving less funding from the State of Michigan. What services that money is allocated for is crucial. I will advocate for workforce development, senior services, mental health and low income family related issues.During my term on city council, I met key political leaders in this County and the State. The connections and insights gained during this time has educated me on important issues that effect my County today. I have experience with making sure that key stakeholders are apart of my decision making process when considering my stance on issues. I have been a trustworthy leader in my community for the past 22 years. As a retiree I am poised to have ample time for dedication to my duties as a Commissioner.

ISSUES

I will pursue maintaining ample resources to meet the requirements needed to secure public safety, workforce development, senior services, mental health services and county wages that are equitable and a sufficient living wage. The work will be getting a realistic assessment of the historical feasibility and effectiveness of the current policies and procedures in these areas. From that point ways to address inefficiencies can be researched.

I will work to ensure that the tax dollars are used for the best interest of county residents; maintaining public safety and roads are crucial, mental heath is in the process of change, jobs that pay at least a living wage need to be secured. I will work close with those involved with these issues to help evaluate and determine how to implement the best practices needed to achieve results that are sufficient.
